JUPITER, Fla. – June 4, 2008 – Residents, members and employees of The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club & Spa, Jupiter collected nearly 600 pounds of non-perishable food items – including rice, beans, cereal, canned goods and baby formula – to donate to the county-wide emergency food drive for Haiti, which is organized by Riviera Beach Mayor Thomas Masters and Port of Palm Beach Commissioner Wayne Richards. In addition to the food and water gathered, the private golf club community also included medical supplies and 400 bath towels donated by The Ritz-Carlton Spa in the truckload donated to the cause.
“We at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club & Spa, Jupiter have made a conscious effort to be strong and active partners in giving back to our local community,” said Jeff Berger, project director for The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club & Spa, Jupiter. “With such a food crisis occurring in Haiti right now, we feel we must extend our efforts to support those in need abroad as well.”
Participation in this relief campaign is part of The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club & Spa, Jupiter’s Community Footprints initiative, which is a global, Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company program that encourages partnerships with local organizations to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
