THE RITZ-CARLTON GOLF CLUB & SPA, JUPITER ANNOUNCES NEW GENERAL MANAGER, DAVID R. TYSON

JUPITER, Fla. – June 2, 2008 – After an extensive nationwide search, David R. Tyson, Certified Club Manager (CCM) has been appointed general manager of The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club & Spa, Jupiter. A 21-year veteran of private club management, Tyson will be responsible for the acclaimed 285-acre residential golf community. He will oversee the property’s 18-hole, Audubon-certified Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course; the 68,000-square-foot clubhouse and spa; five dining facilities; and the management of 130 private and fractional residences.


“Mr. Tyson has a stellar track-record in the private club industry, and his experience will be a great asset to our Club in Jupiter,” said John Cottrill, senior vice president, The Ritz-Carlton Club and Residences operations.


For the past 12 years, Tyson has served as general manager and chief operating officer at three of the country’s most distinguished private clubs including the Philadelphia Country Club in Gladwyne, Pa.; Hudson National Golf Club in N.Y.; and most recently, the Belle Haven Country Club in Alexandria, Va. Prior to that, he held a regional operations manager role with Club Corporation of America (Club Corp), where he was responsible for strategic planning and development of 20 private city, athletic and country clubs in Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Washington D.C., with $60 million in operating revenues and 1,700 employees.

Tyson has a Bachelor of Science in business administration from The Florida State University. He is an active member of the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) and has held officer roles since 2002. He is also a member of the National Club Association (NCA) and currently serves as a council member.
