THE RITZ-CARLTON GOLF CLUB & SPA, JUPITER ANNOUNCES NEW EXECUTIVE CHEF, CHAD E. ELLIS

JUPITER, Fla. – April 17, 2008 – Chad E. Ellis has been appointed executive chef at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club & Spa, Jupiter. Chef Ellis is an internationally credentialed culinary professional with more than 18 years of experience, including 12 years at private clubs. He will be responsible for managing the property’s five dining facilities, including the signature Ritz-Carlton dining room 115 Prime, The Oasis poolside bar and grill, in-home dining services and catered events.

Chef Ellis joined The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C in 2005 as executive chef of The Ritz-Carlton, Golf & Spa Resort, Rose Hall, Jamaica, a AAA-Five Diamond property in Montego Bay. Located on 5,000 acres, Ellis oversaw operations for six exceptional dining establishments all combining traditional Ritz-Carlton service with the flavors of the tropics and the natural charm of Jamaican hospitality. During his tenure he was selected as one of a team of chef trainers to assist with the grand opening of The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman. Following Rose Hall, Chef Ellis served as executive chef and director of food and beverage operations in 2006 at The Ritz-Carlton, Cleveland.

Prior to joining The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, Chef Ellis held positions in prestigious private clubs and hotels across the country. He started his career at the historic Duquesne Club in Pittsburgh, Pa., founded in 1873 and rated the country’s number one city club, before cooking for The Buffalo Club in New York; Locust Hill Country Club in Rochester, N.Y.; and for the Edgartown Yacht Club in Martha’s Vineyard, Mass. He has cooked and competed in seven countries, has been selected for participation in Meals from The Masters and two United States Culinary Teams, and has garnered over 15 national and international awards of distinction.

A native of New England, Ellis attended Kendall College in Evanston, Ill. He was a top graduate of the highly acclaimed Balsams Grand Resort Hotel Apprenticeship program and continued his studies at the esteemed Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley, Calif.

“I hope to bring my experience at some of the country’s finest private clubs to The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club & Spa, Jupiter,” said Chef Ellis. “We’re still a fairly new club, and my goal is to establish some dynamic, new social events and exceptional menu items that our Members will talk about 100 years from now.”
